Patrick Cannon
Corporate Finance and Head of Sports Business Group



Patrick is a corporate finance specialist. He is well known for assisting sports clients develop their businesses through AIM / OFEX flotations, pre IPO funding, joint ventures and reverse takeovers. 

He has advised on a considerable number of private and public fundraisings.  His recent transactions include:

  • Advised London Irish Holdings Limited (the ultimate owners of London Irish Rugby Football Club) regarding a £2.2m fundraising by way of a placing and open offer to the existing shareholders of London Irish Holdings Limited.

  • Advised Business Golf Corporation Limited (the owners of The Times JPMorgan Fleming Corporate Golf Challenge) regarding a fundraising of £220,000 from the Lacomp Fund.

  • Advised SeatBooker (UK) Limited (which has developed real time web ticketing for the sports industry) in relation to a £200,000 equity fundraising from the Lacomp Fund.

  • Advised the shareholders of GoalStriker Group plc (the owners of the actual sized penalty shootout game) regarding the reversal into AIM listed Newmarket Investments plc on a share for share basis at a consideration of circa £1m.

Patrick is a keen sports fan and a member of London Irish RFC and Coombe Hill Golf Club.
